Currently, details are maintained for 1,000 active companies, as shown below. If you select a company on the left, its number will appear in the box on the right.

Geographical coverage is: USA & Canada = 65%, Europe = 25%, and Rest of the World = 10%.

Each company profile is unique in content, depending on the information available at any point in time. Three-quarters are presented in the form of detailed HTML documents, while the remainder are derived from PDF-format company annual reports. All profiles contain a directory header structured as shown below, and all HTML profiles have their content organised into nine main data fields. These are:

    • Post or Zip Code
    • Country
    • Telephone
    • Facsimile
    • Website
    • Chief Executive Officer

      and companies are indexed according to the following criteria:

    • Focus of company (as many as apply)

    • Therapeutic area(s) (as many as apply)

    • Technology area(s) (as many as apply)

    • Type of company (one only)

Each company header gives the full address, telephone and fax number of the company's headquarters. Internet details are also provided for the majority of companies:

A short opening statement is provided on the company's main business.

Where available or appropriate, the company's operating locations and subsidiaries are detailed.

Information about individual products, R&D pipelines, strategic alliances, and so forth are presented in the section entitled "Detailed Business Description".

Any joint ventures and licensing agreements are summarised and key financial data presented (revenues, profit/loss, R&D expenditure). Larger companies will also have summary sales figures and lists of their leading products.

Major events are logged and dated in the company profile as they occur, building a valuable overview of a company's trading history.

Key Patent Data are included for many of the companies in the database.

Finally, most profiles have short biographies of around ten key members of staff, giving purchasers a means of identifying and tracking around 8,000 key biomedical industry executives.
