Pharmaplayers®

Pharmaplayers (PP) is a unique source of global biomedical business intelligence, and is the result of an extensive internal development program at Biophoenix, a UK-based biomedical information consultancy. PP provides users with a comprehensive view of product development and commercial activity in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and related sectors.

Pharmaplayers aims to monitor every significant company active in the worldwide biomedical marketplace, with a focus on new cutting-edge companies, including recent IPOs.

Overall, Pharmaplayers contains detailed profiles on 1,000 companies. Many such records exceed 25,000 words (i.e. forty A4 pages!) in length. The database has a full-text search facility which requires Microsoft Windows® 9x, 2K, or XP/Vista. The number of companies profiled is expected to grow steadily. The following description (including cover artwork and screen shots) is based on our internal CD-ROM version.

Profiles include full descriptions of each company's activities, collaborations, joint ventures, products in development, products on sale, ongoing legal proceedings (if any), financial results (complete with an analysis by the company's management), and brief biographies of key company personnel.

All the features of the Pharmaplayers CD-ROM can be accessed from the Autoplay Menu, of which the first screen is devoted to usage options and the second to installation options.

PP is a CD-ROM product, although - being written in HTML - it could easily be offered over the WWW if desired. PP is available for licensing now. We expect a royalty-bearing arrangement under which the licensee would obtain updated profiles from us on a regular basis, incorporate them into one or more products, and sell them.
